Those Sweet Smiles...... |
Taking a break to hail Yvonne's B'Day |
Would like to capture every smile |
Inspired by
Robert Frost’s THE ROAD NOT
TAKEN
I stuck
close to my shadow.
We gave each
other a smile of assurance
and headed
into the woods.
Dark it was
,
with the crescent moon occasionally
peeked
through the thin cloud,
leaving a
silvery trail at my feet.
The only
sound was the song of the cricket
and my
inaudible footsteps.
Then I came
to where the road diverged.
Standing
long between the two paths, I looked
down
As far as I
could.
One left a
clear trotted mark,
The other
bent nowhere
Far in the
undergrowth.
I stood a
moment longer.
Which should I take?
If you know
Robert Frost’s The Road Not Taken,
you’ll know the answer.
What
recalled me to Robert’s poem is the recent
preparation for TOP Exhibition. There
are quite a
lot of things that TOP members have to
overcome: the practice,
which writing form to do, the model script, the framing….
Most of us
never did it before. There’re quite a lot
of not knowing, undeciding, not sure
if it’s
okay…. But with the determination one felt
among TOP artists during
last Wednesday class
time, I know that you can climb any mountain
and cross any
sea.
This is the
closing verses of Frost’s original poem:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and
I---
I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Good luck and blessed are those who dare take
challenges!
Nothing could beat your determination |
Deep in thoughts |
Need making up your mind |
Wish the B'Day Girl and good year ahead |
Happy days Yvonne! And may our days be filled with love and harmony. Congratulations to you all on your commitment to your cultural heritage.

ReplyDeleteValerie, glad to see you put creative artwork along side with the calligraphy. Great idea. Look forward to see your finished work.
