Picnic at Daisy Hill Conservation Park

Daisy Hill Conservation Park
12 June 2019

It was a nice day when we set off for our annual picnic. It was Daisy Hill conservation Park with a Koala Centre right inside.

We had a wonderful time enjoying food prepared by our master chef members. Then we visited the kaola centre where we found six of them, healthy and relaxed.

Then we had a walk along one of the walking trails to burn the energy after the big meal. It was such a great time to catch up with our dear members outside the classroom.

母親節2019花絮 Mother's Day 19

What's special for 2019 Mother's Day for TOP is that the Chinese painting classmates were added to  the celebration for the first time. This means diversity and member power has increased in the TOP circle.

Delicacies served in a 3-tier is a tradition in our celebration. Cakes and pastries chosen are fit for the Queens.

Then the party would not finish without a game. The display of anonymous childhood photos began the guessing game.  Thanks to the support of our gorgeous members who shared a wonderful moment of their past with us.

Vicky got all correct names in the guess and got the mulberry essence donated by Mr Liang. Hurray!!

Maris is from Czech Republic, working as a volunteer in Gold Coast, teaching sports to the handicapped. He couldn't spare a gold coin but I promised to give the lucky name scroll to him for free, inspired by his enthusiasm.

Sweetest moment of the day

It had been a wonderful day in Toowoomba, although throughout the 4-hour lucky scroll writing activity, we hardly had a break . We were overwhelmed by the passion of the local people, who appreciated our art and would like to bring home our blessings for the whole year.

Last but not least, we thanked the USQ Student Guild who organised the event and especially to Daphne who guided me all the way through the administrative procedures. Without these beautiful people, our Toowoomba trip would not have been a success.

Our story could not end without thanking the devoted TOP members who made up the calligraphy squad, namely Mr Wang, Mr Jiang, Mr Huang, Sam, Liang, Iris, Brenda and honoured volunteer Mrs Chow. It was a long day starting from 7:45am -5:00pm  Without the passion, we could not make it.

Lastly, the backstage crew who didn't go there but had helped so much in the preparation.

Thank you and see you next year!
