羊年大吉 Happy Goat Year

To celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Goat, the Orchid Pavilion gave out free lucky couplets in Sunnybank Hills Library on the 16, 17 and 18 February.

During the 3 days, we located near the entrance of the library, with brushes, ink and red paper scrolls ready. We prepared some couplets beforehand, so people walked past our stall and picked the ones they liked. Some wanted special blessings and we wrote for them accordingly. Those who did not know the Chinese characters would ask us the meaning of them. We explained to them and they then chose the ones best suited their new year wishes.

They loved the red scrolls very much and took them home happily.

為慶祝乙未羊年,  <蘭亭雅聚>成員一連三天: 二月十六, 十七, 十八日(年廾八, 廾九, 三十),   在Sunnybank Hills 圖書館寫揮春, 送給大家.

我們的攤位在接近圖書館入口, 有興趣幫忙的組员事先帶備毛筆墨硯, 到時即席揮毫, 有些则為街坊介紹及解釋. 我們也預先寫好各式祝福的揮春, 給大家選擇. 有些街坊希望我們寫特別的祝福語, 我們都樂意做「黃大仙」-----有求必應. 大家都開開心心拿揮春回家.
